I went to this show on a whim. It wasn't expensive ($15) and I listened to the album before and thought it was a decent effort. I went down to U Street and was looking for the venue with no luck. I finally figured it out when I saw the almighty sign:
Inside seemed to fit the outside because this truly was a hole in the wall, it gives H street a run for its money: Rock N Roll Hotel
I also felt the ground was unsteady:
But on to the show:
First out of the gate was TeamMate. They were decent and did a cover of Madonna's Causing A Commotion:
The guy in the band was dead ringer for Daniel Powter
TeamMate member:

Next up was the main attraction: Skylar Grey
Seeing her up close made me think of another pop star: Lykke Li
Skylar Grey:
Lykke Li:
Her set was good and showed how versatile she is, it is smart to be a singer/songwriter in biz. It was cool to hear the new album but also all of the other stuff she has done with/for Eminem and Rihanna.
After I went to a place called &Pizza. They didn't want you to take pictures of the menu which made no sense to me but if that is what must be done for a good pizza, I can follow the rules. This pizza was custom made and really good!!!
Next up @ U Street:
